Angela Markado, a Filipino comic book created by Carlo J. Caparas, was adapted into film by the Philippines' most celebrated director, Lino Brocka. It stars Hilda Koronel and it's about a poor girl who is raped and sold into sex slavery, She eventually escapes and finds out that things aren't getting better due to the fact that her mother's dead and her best friend was also raped by the same bunch of dudes who raped her. Then she becomes a vigilante out for REVENGE. And JUSTICE. She's almost like Batman but not really.
Anyway, the movie is apparently getting a remake and the top choice right now for the title role? Sam Pinto. I like her and all but I think she's an odd choice. We'll see.
